150 patients (aged 2-12 years) with distal radius fractures (type OTA/AO 23-A2) were randomized to receive either a modified Robert Jones bandage (n=75) or a plaster cast (n=75). Outcomes of interest included the incidence of complications, child comfortability, family satisfaction, and the incidence of re-fracture after 26 weeks. Complication rates and family satisfaction were similar between the two groups. However, significantly more patients in the Robert Jones bandage group were comfortable with the intervention.
