Prospective controlled study of rectangular titanium cage fusion compared with iliac crest autograft fusion in anterior cervical discectomy
Neurosurg Focus. 2002 Jan 15;12(1):E236 patients with symptomatic one- or two-level cervical disc disease were randomized to undergo cervical spinal fusion treatment either with the rectangular titanium cage (RTC) fusion or the more widely performed iliac crest autograft fusion. The primary outcomes were based on radiographic and clinical data. Results indicated that the RTC fusion treatment is a safe and efficacious alternative to the more commonly performed iliac crest autograft fusion.
