Effect of rapid rehabilitation care on surgical site wound infection and pain in patients with intertrochanteric femoral fractures: A meta-analysis.

Twenty-one randomized controlled trials including 2004 patients with intertrochanteric femoral fractures were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis comparing rapid rehabilitation care vs. routine care. Pooled outcomes of interest included postoperative complications, wound infections, wound pain, and length of hospital stay. Pooled results indicated that rapid rehabilitation care significantly reduced postoperative complications, wound infections, and wound pain, and shortened the length of hospital stay compared to routine care. The findings suggest that rapid rehabilitation care is more effective in improving postoperative outcomes for patients with intertrochanteric femoral fractures.
