Effect of pulsed radiofrequency in treatment of facet-joint origin back pain in patients with degenerative spondylolisthesis

Eighty adult patients suffering from facet joint pain due to degenerative spondylolisthesis were randomly assigned to pulsed radiotherapy (PRF) or standard steroid injection to compare the following outcome measures: pain relief, functional status, patient satisfaction, and total analgesic dosage. At 6 months post-treatment, patients who received PRF demonstrated a significant reduction in NRS pain score, ODI %, and need for analgesics, and a higher patient satisfaction compared to those who received standard steroid injection.
