High Impact
This study has been identified as potentially high impact. OE's AI-driven High Impact metric estimates the influence a paper is likely to have by integrating signals from both the journal in which it is published and the scientific content of the article itself. Developed using state-of-the-art natural language processing, the OE High Impact model more accurately predicts a study's future citation performance than journal impact factor alone. This enables earlier recognition of clinically meaningful research and helps readers focus on articles most likely to shape future practice.

Position and duration of immobilization after primary anterior shoulder dislocation: a systematic review and meta-analysis of the literature

J Bone Joint Surg Am. 2010 Dec 15;92(18):2924-33

9 trials examining patients with primary anterior shoulder dislocation were analyzed to determine the optimum duration and position of immobilizations to prevent recurrent dislocation. Results indicated that there was no significant difference between 1 week and greater than three week immobilization periods in terms of recurrence rate duration (p=0.52) or position of immobilization (p=0.07) in the prevention of recurrent dislocations. Systematic review showed a trend towards better outcomes for external rotation. However, individuals who were below the age of thirty at the time of injury were more likely to experience recurrence.
