Plasma rich in growth factors in arthroscopic rotator cuff repair: a randomized, double-blind, controlled clinical trial
Arthroscopy. 2013 Jan;29(1):2-9. doi: 10.1016/j.arthro.2012.08.01469 patients were randomized to evaluate the effectiveness of plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) following arthroscopic repair of full-thickness rotator cuff tears. Patients received conventional surgery either with or with the application of PRGF after the arthroscopic procedure. The results at one year follow-up indicated that the administration of PRGF did not improve clinical outcome and tendon healing compared to conventional surgery without PRGF.
