158 patients with a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) were randomized to receive either press-fit fixation or fixation with interference screws for ACL reconstruction using the central third bone-patella tendon-bone autograft. This study aimed to compare the outcomes between the aforementioned techniques. Results at the 12-month follow-up indicated that there were no significant differences between groups with respect to any outcome measure (IKDC scores, Tegner activity scores, mean laxity improvements, Lachman improvements, femur circumference difference, effusion, range of motion, extension deficit between 3 and 5 degrees, flexion loss greater than 5 degrees, or complications).
