Neither pre-operative education or a minimally invasive procedure have any influence on the recovery time after total hip replacement
Int Orthop. 2015 Aug;39(8):1475-81209 patients scheduled for total hip arthroplasty were randomized to one of four groups: pre-operative education and a minimally invasive procedure, pre-operative education and a standard procedure, no pre-operative education and a mini-invasive procedure, and no pre-operative education and a standard procedure. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether pre-operative education or minimally invasive surgery was associated with a significant effect on early functional recovery postoperative. Result demonstrated no significant effects of either intervention on time to complete function independence.
