Strength and Functional Improvement Using Pneumatic Brace with Extension Assist for End-Stage Knee Osteoarthritis: A Prospective, Randomized trial

59 patients with degenerative, end-stage knee osteoarthritis (OA) were included in the study. Participants were randomized to standard treatments including physical therapy and corticosteroid injections or use of a pneumatic brace. The study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of the brace in improving function, pain, and strength in comparison to the standard techniques. The study found that all outcomes were significantly improved with the use of the brace as compared to standard nonsurgical treatment options for end stage knee osteoarthritis.
