Arthroscopy. 2014 Aug;30(8):1006-1017This systematic review identified 5 studies (2 randomized controlled trials, 2 prospective studies, 1 retrospective analysis) that compared plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) to a control group for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis symptoms, with the aim of determining the efficacy and safety of PRGF. Final analysis revealed PRGF intra-articular infiltrations reduced pain and did not inflict severe adverse events in patients suffering from knee osteoarthritis.
