Periarticular multimodal drug injection in total knee arthroplasty

Epub 2013 Jun 20.This meta-analysis was comprised of 10 randomized controlled trials comparing the efficacy and safety of periarticular multimodal drug injections to placebo/no-injection for primary total knee arthroplasty. Upon analysis, pooled results revealed that periarticular multimodal drug injections improved short-term pain relief, as well as the proportion of patients who could perform the straight leg raise in the early postoperative period.
