Treatment of MM-associated spinal fracture with percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) and chemotherapy
Eur Spine J. 2012 May;21(5):912-9. Epub 2011 Dec 16.76 patients with multiple myeloma (MM) and associated spinal fractures were randomized to receive either a combination treatment of percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) with chemotherapy or a treatment of just chemotherapy. Results showed that the use of PVP produced minimal trauma and was able to promote long-term analgesic effect along with improved spinal stability.
