Midterm comparison of posterior cruciate-retaining versus -substitutingtotal knee arthroplasty using the Genesis II prosthesis- A multicenter prospective randomized clinical trial
Knee. 2008 Jun;15(3):217-21. Epub 2008 Mar 5222 patients suffering from degenerative osteoarthritis were randomly assigned to undergo total knee arthroplasty (TKA) using either a posterior cruciate ligament retaining or substituting prosthesis. At a minimum follow-up of 5 years, both groups demonstrated excellent results with the only difference being greater knee flexion and range of motion in the ligament substituting group.
