2017 OTA Annual Meeting: Allgöwer-Donati Versus Vertical Mattress Suture Technique Impact on Perfusion in Ankle Fracture Surgery: A Randomized Clinical Trial Using Intraoperative Angiography

OE Journal. 2017;5(21):530 patients with an ankle fracture scheduled for open reduction and internal fixation were randomized to closure using either an Allgower Donati suture or a vertical mattress suture technique. Patients were assessed for postoperative incisional perfusion using laser-assisted indocyanine green angiography. Significantly higher perfusion scores were observed in the Allgower Donati group as compared to the vertical mattress group. One wound complication occurred in each group.
