A Prospective Randomized Control Trial Comparing Immediate Weight Bearing Versus Touch-Down Weight Bearing in Extra-Articular Distal Femur Fractures
31 patients with a distal femur fracture scheduled for open reduction and internal fixation were randomized to either immediate weight bearing or touch-down weight bearing after surgery. Rates of union by final follow-up, failure, and mortality were not reported to differ significantly between the two groups.
