Effects of Online Home Nursing Care Model Application on Patients with Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury

Eighty patients with traumatic spinal cord injury discharged from hospital after surgery were randomized to receive an online nursing care model (n=40) or routine discharge guidance (n=40). The outcomes of interest included the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), Short Form 36 (SF-36) quality of life questionnaire, and the incidence of complications. Outcomes were assessed 12 months post-discharge. Results of the trial revealed all outcomes to be significantly in favour of the online nursing care group compared to the control group (p<0.05 for all).
