Steroid Injection versus NSAID Injection for Trigger Finger: A Comparative Study of Early Outcomes
J Hand Surg Am. 2012 Jul;37(7):1319-23110 patients, with or without diabetes, presenting with trigger digits were randomized to either receive treatment with a NSAID injection or corticosteroid injection. The results indicate that, although the corticosteroid injection provided patients with faster relief, at 3 months there was no significant difference between the two treatment groups. As well, there was no difference in diabetic and non-diabetic patients response to either treatment.
