Seventy-four patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty with ceramic-on-ceramic bearings were randomized to receive robotic-assisted surgery (RAS; n=37) or conventional manual THA (CON; n=37). The primary outcome was the incidence of noise (e.g., creaking, squeaking) reported up to 24 weeks postoperatively. Secondary outcomes included radiological component alignment, Harris Hip Score, Oxford Hip Score, and noise characteristics such as frequency and volume. Outcomes were assessed at 2, 12, and 24 weeks postoperatively. Overall, the results of the study revealed that RAS significantly reduced early postoperative noise incidence and provided more accurate component placement. At 24 weeks, the difference in noise incidence persisted but was not statistically significant. The findings suggest that robotic-assisted THA may improve surgical precision and reduce early noise-related complications.
