Early clinical results of a high-flexion, posterior-stabilized, mobile-bearing total knee arthroplasty: a US investigational device exemption trial
J Arthroplasty. 2012 Mar;27(3):421-9. Epub 2011 Aug 19.293 patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty for degenerative joint disease were randomized to TKA using a mobile or fixed bearing prosthesis. This was an investigational trial to examine the results of a new mobile bearing prosthesis. Results at a minimum of two year follow-up indicated that there were no differences between the novel mobile bearing device and the fixed bearing device. Long-term follow-up trials are still required to fully assess outcomes of the device.
