OE Journal. 2013;1(2):7 J Bone Joint Surg Br. 2008 Jan;90(1):43-9.142 patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA), scheduled for 159 primary total knee replacements (TKR), were randomized to undergo simultaneous patellar resurfacing or no resurfacing at the time of TKR. At a mean of 4 year follow up, the patellar resurfacing did not provide any additional benefit in the functional activity or reduction in the anterior knee pain.
