OE Journal. 2015;3(9):20 JAMA. 2015 Mar 10;313(10):1037-47250 patients with displaced proximal humerus fracture were randomized to surgical management, with either internal fixation or hemiarthroplasty, or conservative management with sling immobilization. The purpose of this study was to compare treatment methods based on outcome of the Oxford Shoulder Score, as well as the incidence of complications. Follow-up was conducted at 3, 6, 12 and 24 months. No significant differences were observed between groups in Oxford Shoulder Score at any time point.
