The short-term effects of graded activity versus physiotherapy in patients with chronic low back pain: A randomized controlled trial

OE Journal. 2015;3(22):14 Man Ther. 2015 Aug;20(4):603-966 patients with chronic nonspecific low back pain were randomized to received either physiotherapy or graded activity as treatment. The purpose of the study was to compare improvements of pain and disability as well as quality of life, global perceived effect, return to work, daily physical activity, and physical capacity of the two therapy types to determine if one method is more advantageous over the other. Outcomes were assessed at the end of the 6-week programs. Results indicated that there were no significant differences in pain reduction, disability, or clinical outcomes between the groups after 6 weeks.
