No difference in endoscopic iliopsoas tendon release techniques for snapping hip syndrome .
Prospective randomized study of 2 different techniques for endoscopic iliopsoas tendon release in the treatment of internal snapping hip syndrome
Arthroscopy. 2009 Feb;25(2):159-63. Epub 2008 Oct 1019 patients presenting with snapping hip syndrome were randomized to surgical release of the iliopsoas tendon at either the lesser trochanter or at the level of the hip, using a transcapsular technique. This study assessed if the site of tendon release affected clinical outcomes of this procedure. Results at one year follow up indicated that both groups improved from preoperative WOMAC scores, but there were no significant differences between these points of surgical release.
