Range of Motion of Standard and High-Flexion Posterior Cruciate-Retaining Total Knee Prostheses
J Bone Joint Surg Am. 2009 Aug;91(8):1874-81.59 patients (118 knees) undergoing total knee arthroplasty were randomized to receive either the NexGen CR knee prosthesis or the NexGen CR-Flex knee prosthesis. This study was conducted to test whether the NexGen CR-Flex knee prosthesis provided increased range of motion compared to standard knee prosthesis. At 3 year follow-up, the results from this study indicated that there were no significant differences seen between prosthesis in terms of pain, function, or perceived satisfaction.
