Bioresorbable Pins and Interference Screws for Fixation of Hamstring Tendon Grafts in Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction Surgery

54 patients undergoing ACL reconstruction by autologous hamstring graft method were randomized to undergo hamstring fixation with either RigidFix resorbable pins or BioCryl resorbable screws. Recent biomechanical studies have suggested that the use of resorbable pins is advantageous, but it has yet to be determined if these findings lead to significant improvements in clinical outcomes. At 2 year follow-up, it was found that there were no significant differences in anteriorposterior laxity, SF 36 physical/mental component scores, and international knee documentation committee scores between groups.
