The Effect of Monophasic Pulsed Current with Stretching Exercise on the Heel Pain and Plantar Fascia Thickness in Plantar Fasciitis: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Healthcare (Basel). 2020 Jun; 8(2): 79.Forty-four patients with plantar fasciitis were randomized to receive monophasic pulsed current treatment with or without plantar fascia stretching. The outcomes of interest included heel pain on a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and plantar fascia thickness. Outcomes were assessed before and after 4 weeks of treatment. The results revealed no statistically significant differences in VAS heel pain scores or plantar fascia thickness between the two treatment groups post-treatment (p=0.67, p=0.23; respectively).
