Neck Stabilization Exercises vs Dynamic Exercises Among Patients Having Nonspecific Neck Pain .
Comparing the effects of neck stabilization exercises versus dynamic exercises among patients having nonspecific neck pain with forward head posture: a randomized clinical trial.
BMC Musculoskelet Disord . 2024 Sep 4;25(1):707.Sixty patients with nonspecific neck pain and forward head posture were randomized to receive either neck stabilization exercises (NSE) (n=30) or neck dynamic exercises (NDE) (n=30), along with conventional treatments such as TENS, stretching, and cold packs. The primary outcome of interest was pain intensity measured via the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Secondary outcomes included disability (Neck Disability Index), forward head posture (plumb line measurements), and neck range of motion (ROM) assessed using goniometry. Outcomes were evaluated at baseline and after three weeks. Overall, the results revealed significant within-group improvements in all measured outcomes, but there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups. This suggests both exercise regimens are equally effective in managing nonspecific neck pain and associated impairments.
