Epub Ahead of Print
J Pain Res. 2026 07-Sep;():. 10.2147/JPR.S634945Study Summary
48 participants with forward head posture (FHP) were randomized to receive a combination of traditional Thai massage (TTM), scapular stabilization exercises (SSE), and chest mobilization (CM), or a control intervention involving supine rest. The primary outcome was forward head angle (FHA). Secondary outcomes included cervical range of motion (CROM) during flexion and forced vital capacity (FVC). Outcomes were assessed at baseline, 4 weeks, and 8 weeks. Overall, the results of the study revealed that the combined intervention significantly improved FHA and cervical flexion compared to the control group at both follow-up assessments, while no significant differences were observed in FVC. These findings suggested that combining TTM, SSE, and CM improved head posture and cervical mobility, with benefits maintained for 1 month after treatment.
