Modification of autistic behavior with LSD-25
Am J Psychiatry. 1966 11-Apr;():. 10.1176/ajp.122.11.1201This paper looked at two studies, both conducted in a pair of identical twin boys who demonstrated behaviours consistent with autism. Study 1 had 6 days of sessions, consisting of 2 control days, 2 days of receiving oral placebo, and 2 days of receiving 50ug of LSD. The participants were tested on the Socialization Test and Social Isolation Test. LSD was seen to increase some social behaviours in both tests. The second study consisted of 9 sessions, split with control and LSD sessions. The participants received 50ug of LSD and were tested in a Peek-a-boo game, pat-a-cake game, face-to-face game, hand-holding and following. The participants showed increase eye-to-face behaviour during some of the tests.
