The effectiveness of minimally invasive total knee arthroplasty to preserve quadriceps strength: A randomized controlled trial
Knee. 2011 Dec;18(6):443-7. Epub 2010 Sep 15
50 patients scheduled for total knee arthroplasty due to degenerative arthritis were randomized to be performed by minimally invasive technique or conventional surgical approach. The MIS approach resulted in better outcomes with regards to preserved extensor strength than the conventional surgical approach for TKA procedure.
