Micronized dehydrated human amniotic/chorionic membrane improves plantar fasciitis pain .
OrthoEvidence Journal (OE Journal) - ACE Report
OE Journal. 2014;2(1):7 Foot Ankle Int. 2013 Oct;34(10):1332-945 patients with plantar fasciitis (8 weeks to 1 year duration of symptoms) were randomized to evaluate the efficacy of micronized dehydrated human amniotic/chorionic membrane (mDHACM) in the treatment of refractory plantar fasciitis over 8 weeks. Reduction of symptoms was evaluated by The American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) Hindfoot scale; the Wong-Baker FACES Pain Rating Scale; and QualityMetric’s SF-36v2 Standard Health Survey. The evidence presented in this study demonstrated that plantar fasciitis symptoms were significantly and equally improved for patients administered with 0.5cc mDHACM or with 1.25cc mDHACM within 1 week of intervention. No treatment-related adverse events were observed throughout 8 weeks of study.
