Adductor canal block versus continuous femoral nerve block in primary total knee arthroplasty: A meta-analysis

Seven trials (4 RCTs and 3 CCTs) were included in this meta-analysis which compared the analgesic and functional results following total knee arthroplasty between an adductor canal block and continuous femoral nerve block. Results demonstrated statistically similar pooled results between the two options regarding pain scores and cumulative morphine consumption. Functional performance measures, such as the ability to perform the Timed Up and Go test and walking distance, favoured groups treated with the adductor canal block.
