Effectiveness of physiotherapy and costs in patients with clinical signs of shoulder impingement syndrome: one-year follow-up of a randomized controlled trial

OE Journal. 2015;3(3):11 J Rehabil Med. 2014 Nov 4;46(10):1029-3690 adult patients with symptoms of shoulder pain for at least 4 weeks were randomly assigned to receive manual physiotherapy in combination with exercise or exercise alone for 5 weeks. This trial aimed to compare these two intervention approaches for the treatment of shoulder impingement after 1 year follow-up. The findings of this trial indicated comparable improvements across all patient-reported outcomes at final follow-up, except that manual physiotherapy was more costly than exercise alone after 5 weeks.
