Effectiveness of mobilization therapy and exercises in mechanical neck pain

OE Journal. 2015;3(8):24 Physiother Theory Pract. 2015 Feb;31(2):99-106.60 patients with mechanical neck pain were included in this study in one of three groups: Maitland mobilization with exercise, Mulligan mobilization with exercise, and just exercise. The purpose of the study was to compare these three interventions in terms of VAS pain, range of motion (ROM), and Neck disability index (NDI). Following 6 weeks of treatment and final 12 week follow-up, all groups indicated improvements with time, but there was no significant difference between groups. These results indicated that neither manual therapy intervention was superior to supervised exercises alone in the assessed outcomes.
