A comparison of bone-patellar tendon-bone and bone-hamstring tendon-bone autografts for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

80 patients undergoing anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction were randomised to receive a bone-hamstring tendon-bone (BHB) autograft or a bone-patellar tendon-bone (BTB) autograft . Subjective and functional clinical factors were measured during the course of this trial. Results indicated there was a lower risk of problems at the graft harvest site with BHB autograft. However, other clinical outcomes were comparable between the two groups.
