Six randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis which sought to compare the incidence of cement leakage between unilateral percutaneous vertebral augmentation (PVA) and bilateral percutaneous vertebral augmentation in treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. Pooled results from all six studies demonstrated a significantly lower incidence of cement leakage among unilateral PVA groups compared to bilateral PVA groups.
