Leukocyte-Rich vs. Leukocyte-Poor Platelet-Rich Plasma for Knee Osteoarthritis .
This study has been identified as potentially high impact.
OE's AI-driven High Impact metric estimates the influence a paper is likely to have by integrating signals from both the journal in which it is published and the scientific content of the article itself.
Developed using state-of-the-art natural language processing, the OE High Impact model more accurately predicts a study's future citation performance than journal impact factor alone.
This enables earlier recognition of clinically meaningful research and helps readers focus on articles most likely to shape future practice.
Leukocyte-Rich versus Leukocyte-Poor Platelet-Rich Plasma for the Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis: A Double-Blind Randomized Trial
Am J Sports Med. 2022 Mar;50(3): 609-617.192 patients with unilateral, symptomatic knee osteoarthritis were randomized to receive 3 weekly intra-articular injections of leukocyte-rich platelet-rich plasma (n=96) or leukocyte-poor platelet-rich plasma (n=96). The primary outcome of interest was the International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) score at 12 months. Secondary outcomes of interest included the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcomes Score (KOOS) sub-scales, the Tegner scale for activity/sporting level, and Euro-QoL Visual Analog Scale (EQ-VAS) for quality of life. No significant differences in all outcomes were observed between the two groups, at 2, 6 and 12 months follow-up.
