OE Journal. 2016;4(11):18 J Shoulder Elbow Surg. 2016 Jan;25(1):2-1135 patients, over the age of 55 years, with chronic, full-thickness rotator cuff tears were randomized to receive arthroscopic rotator cuff repair alone (control) or with the application of autologous leucocyte- and platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF). The purpose of this study was to determine if the augmentation of L-PRF to arthroscopic repair resulted in significant clinical and radiographic benefits when assessed after 1 year. The results displayed no significant differences between groups in terms of satisfaction, Constant-Murley scores, Subjective Shoulder Value, Simple Shoulder Test, VAS pain, and other clinical and radiographic outcomes, at 1 year.
