Efficacy of Hylan G-F 20 and Sodium Hyaluronate in the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee- A prospective randomized clinical trial

392 patients with symptomatic primary knee osteoarthritis were randomized to either receive intra-articular injection with Hylan G-F 20 or intra-articular injection with Sodium Hyaluronate. The results indicated that patients who received the Hylan G-F 20 injection demonstrated quicker pain reduction that lasted for a longer time period than patients who received the Sodium Hyaluronate injection. The Hylan G-F 20 intra-articular injection also resulted in superior clinical effectiveness and patient satisfaction.
