Kinesio Tape For Lateral Elbow Tendinopathy: A Meta-Analysis .
The efficacy of kinesio tape in patients with lateral elbow tendinopathy: A systematic review and meta-analysis of prospective randomized controlled trials.
Heliyon . 2024 Feb 4;10(3):e25606.This systematic review and meta-analysis included 11 randomized controlled trials with 562 patients suffering from lateral elbow tendinopathy, assessing the effectiveness of Kinesio tape (KT) versus various control treatments. The pooled outcomes of interest were visual analog scale (VAS) scores for pain at rest and during movement, maximal grip strength, pain pressure threshold, and scores from the Patient-Rated Tennis Elbow Evaluation(PRTEE) and Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) questionnaires. The results demonstrated significant improvements in pain levels, grip strength, and functional scores favoring the use of KT over controls. The findings suggest that KT may be a beneficial addition to the treatment regimen for lateral elbow tendinopathy, potentially improving patient outcomes in terms of pain relief and functional abilities.
