2017 ISAKOS Congress : Outcome of patellar tendon versus 4-strand hamstring tendon autografts for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: a meta-analysis of prospective randomized trials

OE Journal. 2017;5(14):45Nineteen studies were included in this meta-analysis comparing outcomes following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction between four-stranded hamstring tendon autografts and patellar tendon autografts. No significant differences in re-rupture rate, functional scores, and knee laxity were observed. Analyses on anterior knee pain, kneeling pain, and extension deficit favoured the four-stranded hamstring tendon autograft.
