2017 ISAKOS Congress : Comparison of outcome and gait analysis after robotic total knee arthroplasty between mechanical and kinematic knee alignment methods with average 8 years follow-up

60 patients scheduled for computer-navigated total knee arthroplasty were randomized to either a kinematic or mechanical alignment method for the procedure. Patients were assessed for an average of 8 years postoperatively for patient-reported function, knee range of motion, varus/valgus knee laxity, gait analysis, and kinematic parameters of varus moment and varus force during walking. Results demonstrated no significant differences between groups in outcome measures, with the exception of Knee Society Functional scores, specifically.
