2017 ISAKOS Congress : No benefit of 12-weeks postoperative treatment with compartment-unloading knee brace or insoles after partial mensicectomy

41 patients scheduled for arthroscopic partial meniscectomy and standardized postoperative physical therapy were randomized to either an unloader brace for 12 weeks, wedge insoles for 12 weeks, or no additional intervention in the postoperative period. Patients were assessed for function on the International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) score and for physical activity over the first 6 months postoperatively. No significant differences between groups were observed for either outcome measure over the 6-month follow-up.
