Effectiveness of bupivacaine liposome injectable suspension for postoperative pain control in total knee arthroplasty: a prospective, randomized, double blind, controlled study

96 patients scheduled for total knee arthroplasty were randomized to local infiltration analgesia containing either liposomal bupivacaine or ropivacaine. Patients were assessed during their hospital stay for pain scores, narcotic consumption, and time to be able to walk 100 feet. Results demonstrated no significant differences between groups for any outcome.
