2017 ISAKOS Congress : Reduced blood loss with low-volume topical tranexamic acid after RSA

OE Journal. 2017;5(14):2243 patients scheduled for reverse shoulder arthroplasty were randomized to either topical tranexamic acid during closure or a control group which did not receive tranexamic acid. Patients were assessed for postoperative blood loss to drainage, transfusion rate, and complications. Postoperative drainage volume was significantly lower in the topical TXA group compared to the control group. No patient of either group required transfusion.
