Platelet Rich Plasma Following Arthroscopic Repair Of Rotator Cuff Tears: A Double Blind Randomized Controlled Trial
50 patients suffering from rotator cuff tears were randomized to either receive 2 PRP injections or 2 saline injections, during the operation and 4 weeks post-operation. At the interim analysis (which included 11 patients in each group), results indicate a non-significant decrease in VAS pain scores from baseline to 6 weeks in the PRP group. In addition, quality of life (assessed using DASH scores) remained relatively unchanged from baseline to 6 weeks in the PRP group.
