2015 10th Biennial ISAKOS Congress : Periarticular Injection Versus Femoral Nerve Block for Pain Control After ACL Reconstruction

OE Journal. 2015;3(12):4557 patients undergoing anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction were randomized into either a group administered periarticular injection with multimodal drugs, or femoral nerve block. The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness and safety of these two pain control regimens after ACL reconstruction. Findings in this study demonstrated that intensity of postoperative pain and patient-controlled analgesia consumption was significantly reduced with periarticular injection with multimodal drugs as compared to femoral nerve block.
