Frequency of Failure in Fixation of Suspensory Fixation Devices for Femoral Fixation During Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
54 patients undergoing anatomic triple-bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) were randomized to receive either the TightRope (Arthrex) fixation device or the EndoButton-CL (Smith & Nephew) fixation device. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference between groups in the frequency of failing to fix the device on the femoral cortex on either the first attempt, or an additional two more trials at turning the button. Results demonstrated a significantly lower fixation failure rate in the EndoButton-CL group compared the the TightRope group.
