2015 10th Biennial ISAKOS Congress : Does Coracohumeral Ligament Release Improve Postoperative Stiffness Following Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair? A Prospective Randomized Study

OE Journal. 2015;3(12):3375 patients undergoing arthroscopic rotator cuff repair were randomized into two groups which either received or did not receive coracohumeral ligament release (CHLR) during surgery. The purpose of this study was to determine if CHLR is effective in impproving clinical shoulder outcomes after rotator cuff repair over a 1 year post-operative period. Results indicated that CHLR patients had lower pain scores and greater range of motion improvement in the short-term as compared to patients who did not receive CHLR.
