A randomized study comparing corticosteroid injection to corticosteroid iontophoresis for lateral epicondylitis
J Hand Surg Am. 2012 Jan;37(1):104-982 patients, presenting with lateral epicondylitis, were randomized to receive corticosteroid treatment in three different groups. The first group received treatment via iontophoresis, the second through injection with dexamethasone and the third through injection with triamcinolone. The results indicated that treatment via iontophoresis provided the quickest improvements in grip strength and resulted in the greatest number of patients who had returned to work without restriction.
